
Real Estate Investments We maintain a flexible investment strategy and seek to take advantage of market inefficiencies in a variety of opportunities where we believe the investment has favorable prospects for above average investment returns. We focus on acquiring assets or providing capital for real estate in quality locations where we believe there is an opportunity to add value. Opportunities to add value may include better pricing and leasing, development and re-development opportunities, improving the physical attributes of a property, improving the capital structure, and better management and/or market positioning. We will consider any real estate asset class that offers these opportunities to add value and we actively seek to partner with other real estate operators and developers through joint ventures and co-investment opportunities on a deal-by-deal basis. We primarily focus our investment activities in the Southeastern U.S., with a particular emphasis on the Carolinas. Our targeted deal size is in the $2 to $15 million range. However, we have the capacity for larger deals given our relationships with other institutional investors. We are professional opportunists and as long we truly understand the risks and the economics of a deal, we have an open mind and will invest in any opportunity that we believe is attractive enough to overcome our resistance to take risk.
